Dominic Sheppard

Business Manager
Personal Injury

Dominic Sheppard, Business Manager Personal Injury, HAYLO People
HAYLO are partnered with a leading specialist Insurer who are looking to recruit 3 Registered Psychologists to join their internal Medical Advisory team in newly created Treatment Specialist roles.

Why you will love this role:
  • 3 x permanent contract opportunities until 30th Dec 2027
  • Sydney CBD, 3 days in the office per week
  • Salary of $115,000–$130,000 + Super
  • Monthly RDOs
  • No traditional clinical caseload or direct psychological treatment
  • Office-based clinical advisory and treatment review focus
  • Opportunity to transition from clinical practice into the insurance industry
If you're looking to utilise your clinical expertise in a different environment, without maintaining a traditional therapy caseload, this could be a great opportunity.

These roles sit within an internal clinical team, providing psychological expertise and oversight to support claims professionals in making informed decisions around appropriate treatment for injured workers.

Your core responsibilities will be:

  • Review psychological treatment requests and assess proposed treatment against clinical evidence, guidelines and recovery objectives.
  • Evaluate whether treatment is appropriate, reasonable and likely to achieve positive outcomes for injured workers.
  • Provide clinical recommendations and guidance to Claims Managers on complex psychological treatment matters.
  • Liaise with treating Psychologists, medical practitioners and other healthcare professionals to clarify treatment plans and address concerns.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise treatment, improve recovery outcomes and support timely return to work.
  • Contribute to clinical education, training and capability development across claims teams.
  • Promote consistency and quality in clinical treatment decision-making.
About You:

We're looking for a Registered Psychologist with current AHPRA registration and previous face-to-face clinical experience working with patients.

You could be coming from private practice, hospital or community mental health, occupational rehabilitation or workers compensation.

Experience working with complex psychological presentations, including trauma, anxiety, depression and PTSD, would be highly regarded.

You'll need to be comfortable reviewing clinical information, assessing treatment pathways and providing evidence-based recommendations, while confidently working with non-clinical stakeholders and managing competing priorities.

This isn't a traditional treating position. It's an opportunity to take your clinical knowledge into a broader advisory capacity, influencing treatment quality and recovery outcomes without directly delivering psychological treatment.

We believe in the freedom to be our authentic selves and welcome people of all genders, ages, nationalities, ethnicity, sexual orientations, personality, and perspectives to apply for any of our roles.

If you're open to a confidential conversation about moving your clinical expertise into an insurance-based role with a greater focus on treatment strategy and advisory work, let me know the best number to reach you on or contact me directly on 0421 573 213 or dominic.sheppard@haylopeople.com.au
