We are partnered with an International insurer in the Personal Injury and General Insurance space who are expanding their market share and who are seeking experienced to join their As a Liability Claims Consultant in the workers compensation team, your role is to deliver high-quality outcomes on intermediate to complex claims through prompt contact, thorough investigation, accurate reserving, and effective claims management for losses incurred by insureds or third parties. You will also be supporting and coaching claims consultants to help them up skill their technical knowledge. 
  
This role is open top experienced candidates, as well as those coming from legal practice and looking to move into Insurance. Whilst long term duration is preference, we are open to candidates on WHV, and relocation cost can also be potentially covered.
  

  • Provide empathetic, high-quality service to injured workers, employers and stakeholders during claim notification and lodgement.
  • Coordinate claim lodgement, gather required information and determine liability within legislative timeframes.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify barriers to recovery and refer to appropriate internal resources.
  • Calculate entitlements including Normal Weekly Earnings (NWE) and ensure accurate claim documentation and system updates.
  • Educate stakeholders on return-to-work processes, rights, responsibilities and claim decisions.
  • Manage disputes and mediation processes, including liaising with internal teams, legal representatives and regulators.
  • Provide technical expertise on complex claims, support strategic claim reviews and mentor internal staff.
  • Assess entitlements such as permanent impairment and coordinate medical assessments to support claim resolution.
  • Tertiary qualification (Law degree preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in claims handling.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal requirements and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and dispute management
  • Understanding of Return to work litigation processes.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience 
  • Up to $105,000 plus Superannuation
